The Seventh Seal - Another classic foreign film. I don't know how accurate this comparison is, but it reminds me a lot of the excerpts that I've read of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. We follow a knight on his journey home from the Crusades who is confronted by Death. An overall serious movie interspersed with good comedic and relatively vulgar scenes.

        0.5 out of 4.

It's nice to see Billy Zane back at work.

          I saw Zombieland last night.

Now, while I think it was a good, fun movie...I didn't think it quite lived up to the lofty reviews.

Do yourself a favor, if you enjoyed ''The Wrestler,'' see ''Crazy Heart'' asap. It's nice to see some of these old timers, showing these fuckers today, how it's done.
Rourke should have won, but I am unsure if I can blame the Academy for voting Penn because of Rourke's potential behavior. Milk was good Oscar fodder and the role Sean Penn had as Harvey Milk was done fantastically.

To me, it really was a 1A and 1B last year but I would have given it to Rourke because I felt he deserved it more.

Moon was excellent for a low budget film, Rockwell was spectacular. I couldn't help but feel this would be the perfect role for Edward Norton though.

Wasn't Paul Bettany a good actor at one time or am I freaking out? Why did I think I had respect for him? Because Jennifer Connelly is his wife maybe?

I loved Rourke and the Wrestler but it's difficult to argue with Penn's performance in Milk because it was the more difficult role to play.

Now, whether or not that should determine who the award goes to is a separate topic, but it must be noted. Rourke was fantastic, as was Penn, but Penn faced a tougher challenge in attempting to play a homo. That said, I'm not sure Penn simply deserves more credit because he had to play a homo, because it definitely does not automatically mean that he did a better job.

Considering 90% of hollywood is gay, though, can't see how anyone expected anybody to beat Penn that year.

Sean Penn really made up ground after going full retard in what seemed to be a "give me an Oscar movie!"
