I saw Pines yesterday, it was very good, but lacked in a few areas. Really enjoyed it though. I watched the trailer afterwards and boy is that thing deceiving the audience. Its nothing like the trailer. It makes it seem like a smaller version of Heat when it is anything but.Comment

Yeah, same, everything I've read about it hasn't impressed me at all. Same thing with Pines, I've heard that the first act is great and the rest of it can live up to it. I'll probably end up seeing Evil Dead or Jurassic Park in 3D. Or Upstream Color if I can find it although I don't think its anywhere near me.Comment

Thats where I got a little cloudy with it. I was interested in what they were going to do with the sons and what kind of consequences were going to fall down upon them based on what their fathers did, but I really don't understand how Dane DaHaan(Goslings son) just flipped so quickly once he learned about his father. He never even knew the guy yet was so quick to want to get "revenge" upon Bradley Cooper and his kid. The motivation to do this is very unclear to me. Its not like he grew up without a father. The black guy was there his entire life and seemed like a really good guy. Had he been a POS or absent stepfather, I can see he would feel cheated out of a father, but that wasn't the case. I think ti would have been better if he had killed Coopers son before taking him to the forest and once he realized Cooper was sorry and had been living with this guilt the past 15 years, he would've been in the same kind of predicament because he just killed his son for the wrong reasons.
It's the kind of film I want to re-watch and digest more before I really feel comfortable with my thoughts on its ending.Comment
