I knew it wasn't going to be any sort of classic, but I was hoping for a harmless 90 minutes of somewhat amusing hijinx & Jason Bateman dry wit. Barely drew a half dozen smirks out of me.

I watched Jack the Giant Slayer. It was okay as a kid-friendly action movie, but nothing to get excited about other than the CGI on the giants is fantastic. My two biggest takeaways are that I didn't realize Ian McShane was so short (apparently he's only 5'9) and that I've come to the conclusion that Bill Nighy is good at every role he plays.

Star Trek: Into Darkness - *** Stars

-Fun popcorn movie that didn't take the chances it needed to to maintain some sense of "permanence" if this were to be an active reboot series.

I fucking mean it when I say spoilers

Pike, the Starfleet Admiral that Peter Weller plays, the X-Amount of people lost in the deep space battle before the last fight scene between Spock and Khan... afterthoughts.

Since this is a reboot of Wrath of Khan, we get the obligatory death scene with Kirk swapping in for Spock this time but even then...

No balls in killing off Kirk in his big damn hero moment to save what's left of the crew.

...I get that you need Kirk and with the deus ex machina of Khan's super blood being able to retcon DEATH ITSELF, there was no real threat to the main characters EVER.

Great for a popcorn flick, not if you want to have some gravitas to your story.

The Hangover: Part III - *1/2 stars

-What happens when you try to base a movie off of what should be a side-story in a main movie AS THE MAIN PLOT OF THE FILM.

Fucking shit sandwich and I hope everyone was happy to collect their check on this one.

The Internship...it was ok. If you like other Vaughn movies, you'll like this one...more of the same.

                      Now You See Me

Felt the writers tried to be too clever at the end and just based the big twist on who would draw the biggest "wtf", not who actually made sense based on the previous 2 hours.

95 critics and 92 audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, along with a spot on the IMDB 250. Gonna have to go ahead and call it overrated.

Just thought I'd pop in here and recommend "Mud" to anyone and everyone. It was so well acted, especially by the two redneck kids.

You never go wrong when General Zod is the uncle to a kid named Neckbone.

Mud is by far the best thing I've seen so far from 2013 and you guys know me, I see everything.

Whats crazy about Mud is that Jeff Nichols had to take it to three different festivals before someone actually bought it. Have no clue how it wasn't instantly snatched up.
