Funny story about Blow...
I got arrested in Santa Barbara for fighting and spent the night in jail. I was put in a cell block with 15 others and they showed a movie ever Saturday. Lucky for me, I got arrested on a Friday night and spent all of Saturday in there as well so I got the privilege of being a part of movie day.
Really though, I'm feeling shitty. Like the scum of the earth. If you've ever been to jail then you know what I mean, it's not a good feeling. I'm 18 at the time and pretty scared, I'm thinking I could get my ass kicked or worse if I look at someone wrong. So anyway, Blow is the movie they're showing and in one of the scenes where Depp is selling coke and what not one of the inmates all of a sudden angrily yells out, "don't do that dummy, you're gonna go to jail!" and everyone starts cracking up.
Guess you had to be there?Comment

The Girl Who Played With Fire- Not as good as the first, but still solid. I haven't read the books yet but I went with my girl who is a huge fan and she says this adaptation wasn't as faithful or thorough. Good movie on its own, but doesn't stand up to the awesomeness that was the first installment, which is a great suspense thriller.
6.5/10
edit- Lisbeth Salander is a sexy lil' heroine, and she's quite the bad ass. Freaky type punk rock chick, with about 5% ninja.Comment

The Expendables
:4star:
Needed more Jet Li. Its felt like everyone had a badass fight scene but him.

Sherlock Holmes - 6.5/10
It the cinematography and fight scenes definitely made it feel like it was Sherlock Holmes: A Guy Ritchie film, which certainly isn't a bad thing. The pacing was good and I thought the entire cast put up solid performances, although RDJ's mumbling was quite hard to understand.
I was pretty confused throughout the film until towards the end when they basically explained everything that had happened in the movie in about 2 minutes.
Overall I was happy with it.Comment

Scott Pilgrim was probably my second favorite movie released this year. The video game effects were a bit much at times, but the subtle metaphors of the plot and obviously awesome visuals that Edgar Wright is so good at.
If Wright makes a few more films of this caliber he might be sneaking up my favorite directors listComment
