I'm very apathetic with As I Lay Dying. I borderline dislike them, but there are a few songs I really enjoy. They are also very talented musicians, especially front man Tim Lambesis. He's got a fantastic side project where he plays guitar, drums and vocals (except for the solos) and I'll post some videos when I get home.

Another band I've been following for many years but they arn't wildly popular. Their new album due out near the end of may has been on my wait list since they announced it back in Jan.
They've gotten away from the melodic/death metal to more progressive, folk metal but its been a pleasent change.

Ahh good ol pain. I remember years ago I first heard them when much music had their hour MuchLoud special at like 11:00pm on friday and saturday nights which only played metal. They have a new album coming out in a packed June.
This was the first video I ever seen from them. Hilarious video and awesome song.

BTW for those wondering I usually reference this wiki page to keep myself updated on everything. I usually end up making lists of cds to get from there.

I know a lot of people don't consider Disturbed to be metal, viewing them as sellouts, and I can see their point. Ever since The Sickness, their music has become more mainstream, and part of that had to do with their lead singer having to adjust his vocals due to an illness he had. I've always been a fan though, as there is just something that I like about their music and it still retains elements of metal.
However, their last album was more heavy than in years past, and they recently released a B-side song titled "3."

Yeah my wife is a big Disturbed fan, The New album is pretty good, but like the rest of their albums, I get tired of it before the CD ends, but I don't mind them, especially compared to a lot of other Nu Metal bands.Comment
