I may have been trolling with those last three, either way not best movie that year let alone alltime.

Speaking of that year, an overrated movie is Slumdog millionaire

I see it on TV all the time and have tried to watch it multiple times but can never get through the whole thing. I've heard people say this was the best comedy of the last decade and I just don't get how people are so in love with it. All of the funniest lines were in the trailer.

Not disagreeing at all. Like I said, it is one of the two films I would accept arguments for being better than TDK. The rest though, no thanks.

But I do agree with you nflman about Slumdog, as I previously posted. That movie is all sorts of overrated.

          Frost/Nixon

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

and on a completely bias opinion Zack and Miri Make a Porno was better too
Yeah, put me on the list for those who'll listen to arguments for all of those except Zack & Miri. Cool movie, but no. Honestly, I had TDK my #1 that year (maybe showing my fanboyism) but wouldn't be mad if anyone had behind any or all of those you have listed except Z&M, Revolutionary Road & Benjamin Button.

Casino was too long and boring sorry. Maybe I need to watch it again because I've only seen it once, but it was definitely long and boring the first time.

I liked that movie as a kid, I'm a huge dog lover though so that may be why I liked it.

and Zack & Miri? Totally disappointed. I still got some movies to see from the year TDK came out though. I got them on my que on netflix though (The Wrestler, Frost/Nixon, and In Bruges)

The Sting is a great movie. Very fast-paced and interesting.

Butch Cassidy/Sundance Kid had some good scenes, but overall I found it way too drawn out. I was ready for the movie to end, but then they go to Bolivia! Yawn. Also kind of a downer movie for the last part.

Sidenote, I actually bought the Sting on DVD because they stopped showing it on TV. I had only seen the TV version, but in the opening scene when Robert Redford and his black partner are running a con, one of the characters says "God Damn Nigger Lover". I guess they saw reason to leave that out of the TV version.

Top 4 members that need to "GTFO".

                    4. MVP- Strong entrance with Boondock Saints, but threw himself under the bus with his Ferris Buller's Day Off post.

                    3. Diivox- I don't mind that he doesn't like Drive, but the extremely large movie poster was uncalled for. He then follows it up with a retarded statement about Fight Club.

                    2. 1Ke- Besides the fact that he's under 40ppp, he called the thread "a bunch of shit". Did anyone else spot his mutiple grammatical errors? I've read drunken Firsttimer post that made more sense.

                    1. Rivers17ncsu- Has the most post in this thread, all of them bad.

speaking of overrated comic book hero movies

Every critic loved it, was considered the best comic book movie prior to TDK. Saw it in the theaters, so fucking boring. Personally I'd rather watch 1 or even 3, there more entertaining (maybe not better movies but much more entertaining than that borefest)

I kind of disagree, but kind of agree. When I saw it in the theater I was the same as you were: bored out of my mind. Then, for whatever reason, over the years I started to like it a lot more, to the point now where I look on it very fondly. I'm no longer bored by it, and for some reason the cheeseball stuff is endearing to me. It is definitely overrated, particularly considering it was considered by many to be the best comic book movie until TDK (although I like Batman Begins better than SM2 as well), but I just wouldn't personally call it boring.

You two talk about people calling it "the best comic book film" as if it were a hard category. What competition did it have other then.....Superman?

Batman and (to some) Batman Returns were up there. Also Spiderman 1 arguably. And the reviews for it were stellar, and I don't think it's because every reviewer was looking at it through this lense of "well, be nice, it's a comic book movie".

I never said that. I mentioned it being the funniest movie of 2011, which isn't even close to the same thing.

Also, not sure how "being a faggot" equates to having a decent sense of humor. I'm sure you're of the belief that women can't be funny unless they're the butt of the joke, but keep your misogyny away from me.
