Do you still buy DVDs/Blu-Ray?

I understand your point of view but this sounds like such an American consumerist habit lol
I still buy my favorite movies eventually because I do not feel like movies on the internet are at the level yet where I can always rely on being able to find a high quality version, or any at all in some cases (ahem Houston Wages of Fear) to be able to watch.Comment

I have Planet Earth and The Pacific on blu-ray, only because I stole them from my store when it was closing. Otherwise, it's not really practical to buy DVD's when I can get anything online and don't really have the money to spend on them.Originally posted by mgoblue2290If you want to win, put Drew in.Comment

5-6 years ago, I would go to BB every Tuesday and buy the new DVD's (when I went to BR, I would only buy when they were cheap). Now I will buy 2-3 for myself. Maybe another 2-3 as gifts (when I find them cheap).Comment

I still buy TV seasons because I like having them and being able to share them with friends. With DVD's, I used to 'collect' them for the look and for the sake of collecting them. Now that I'm in the real world and disposable income is a lot more precious than it was in Uni, it has to be a very special movie for me to go buy (i.e. LOTR Blu Ray collectors edition)
Wife wanted me to go buy Thor the other day. Went to HMV and they wanted $37 for it on BluRay! I was like 'get the fuck out with that' and walked out. I don't want a DVD copy, which is why I am buying BluRay. A fucking digital copy shouldn't cost extra because its JUST A DIGITAL FILE! And they wonder why people pirate shitComment

I still buy movies and the occasional TV show for my collection. I rarely pay more than $10 or $15 for a blu ray though. Most of the items in my collection are ones that I enjoy and can watch at almost anytime.
I'd say most of my movie watching is still through Netflix's delivery service though.Comment

I do agree that more movies should make non-combo pack releases.Comment
