NUMBER 19
Real Estate - Days
Real Estate - Municipality by DominoRecordCo
Probably the most recent album in my top 21(SPOILERS), this album was actually introduced to me by my roomie. This album to me sounds so simple but it conveys an interesting message. Bringing light to all the subtleties of our lives to the fore front. This was walking to class music for almost 2 months. I was able to time my walk to always end on "It's Real" right before class which gave me a perfect blend of upbeatness and carefreeness. Days doesn't revolutionize anything but it reminds me so much of my summer album of last year, Teen Dream by Beach House. And I wouldn't be surprised if this album comes back into the playlists towards the end of my spring semester. This album will make a lot of top albums of 2011 lists and deservingly so.
The video is awesome.

MAYBE THESE HONORABLE MENTIONS ARE BECOMING A THING
The Rapture - In the Grace of Your Love
The Rapture - Sail Away by modularpeople
Brnt put me onto these guys and this album was solid enough. Some real strong songs (Sail Away, It Takes Time to Be a Man, Children). But when I go back to listen to the album, I skip over mostly everything to hit those few good songs because they are so good. I never do that though. Usually when I listen to music I listen to the full album all the way through instead of picking a couple songs I like. So that's why I can't put these guys in the top 21 albums, because it is one of the few albums I don't bother to listen to everything. It's not a bad album overall though. As a total package it is average, with some really good songs that outshine the rest.

NUMBER 18
SBTRKT - SBTRKT
SBTRKT - Wildfire by NME Radar
I know Champ has posted this album before here so hopefully this isn't new to everyone because this album tries to create a different sound. The debut album definitely made an impact on the indie music scene and a lot of people took notice including the most hated man himself Aubrey "Wheelchair Jimmy Drake Aubrey" Graham who did a remix of Wildfire w/Little Dragon and Aubrey. There are also plenty of remixes with SBTRKT online featuring Wu-Tang, Bon Iver, and Deerhunter. Wikipedia lists the SBTRKT's genres as Electronic/Post-Dubstep/Soul which I think is a good barometer of what this sounds like. For somebody who says he hates a lot of electronic music this album really opened my eyes early to something I can like. Great beats and great hooks = number 18 album of the year, and probably my favorite electronic album of the year.

Was listening to some BBNG this morning.
Maybe a stretch, but if you like them then you might wanna check out this album. There's other with the style that I like a lot more, but this one released this year.
