We definitely disagree with some things going by that list. Mainly I'd have Hall Pass higher and Bad Teacher lower. I'd also have Super 8 higher. We do agree on some of the top movies though and that Bridesmaids was not the best comedy of the year.

So I was looking at the GG nominees last night and realized, I haven't seen shit this year at all, absolutely nothing, I think the last movie I saw in the theater was Super 8, most everything I have watched for 2011 hasn't been well received or was just good, nothing that was great. in 2010 I had seen 8 of the 10 best Picture Nominees before the Oscars, at this Rate I will be lucky to have seen 1.

Those nominations suck and I expect the Oscars to be the same. Last year most of the "best" movies were pretty popular and well represented. Inception, Black Swan, The Fighter, Toy Story 3, 127 Hours, The Social Network, and The Kings Speech.

I could be wrong, but I just don't see the best films of 2011 getting nearly as much attention at the oscars as the ones of 2010 then. Not expecting movies like Crazy, Stupid, Love, or Drive, or Warrior to get their due respect.

Hall Pass was GOD AWFUL. Worst movie of the year so far.

Of what I've seen so far this year, Moneyball is the only film that will probably get a Best Picture nomination. It's been a strange year. Houston is right.

I was confused for awhile why everyone loved Drive. Then shit went down and now I see the light.

Have a good amount of 2011's best movies downloaded and ready to be watched.

Moneyball and The Descendants I'm sure will be shoe ins. Then there will probably still be 8(lol) more spots open for nominations. Could get pretty and they go to some of the movies like I mentioned. Or it could get very ugly, and they start handing them out to movies like J.Edgar and War Horse. Neither of which I've seen, I'm just assuming they're as bad as they look.

Edit-oh yeah, Rango should be a shoe in for Best Picture from the animation side of things.

They are not bad, but not "Best Picture" worthy.

I really don't even see why they'd nominate anything else.

I saw Drive, it was good, but not great, alot of just casual staring with the stars IMO. As for Contagion, I think it was overrated. As was Bridesmaids. I personally prefer movies like Warrior, The Adjustment Bureau, 50/50, and Rise/Apes

Good news is that I heard that the Oscars are not going to have 10 Best Picture nominations every year, its going to be one of those Up to 10 movies, so I expect this year to be a smaller list, maybe 5 or 6, and other years they will have more in the 8 to 10.
