I guess I'm one of the few who didn't mind Hall Pass. I thought Bad Teacher was less funnier than that. Didn't really like the movie Paul either. A Good Old Fashioned Orgy was worse as well IMO, I imagine Jack & Jill probably and Zookeeper are too.

That's really disappointing, I had expected more from it.

with Contagion, I loved that Soderbergh was back to
being Soderbergh. The source material was a cool version of the end of the world obsession we've seen over the past few years. The multiple storyline angle about the outbreak
was really well done and is Soderbergh's speciality.

plus Gweneth Paltrow being patient zero and dying early
on definitely added to it all

That spoiler made me spit out my water. What was your favorite storyline from the movie?

Just seemed a little too rushed to try and explore as many angles as possible.
glen - i think that added to it, IMO. everything happened so quickly and the movie portrayed that, but i can see where you're coming from. There was a ton going on and not enough screen time to portray it all.

buzzman - kate winslet's storyline is what sticks with me to this day. i saw it in sept and need to see it again

I really need to see it again, though.

Fishburne's storyline is what I think of first when I think of that movie. I thought it was just average, not a top 10 film of 2011 or anything.

I think Contagions style was more interesting then anything else. There were no heroes or villains, no real dramatic scenes, no moral, nothing. In a way the movie moved like real life.
For instance Matt Damons character, he remained just a normal guy without answers throughout the movie. Then you have the separate conspiracy theory character, along with the doctor who got kidnapped. In a ton of other movies Damon would've been all three rolled into one. Imagine Cruise's character in War of the Worlds, Cusak's in 2012, and Jason Bourne. Would've been doing some ridiculous shit to save the day.

I like how Contagion created separate characters for every role needed, and kept them all realistic. While not top 10 material for me, it was one of the most unique experiences I had watching a 2011 film. Realistic characters and situations. It didn't have the typical Hollywood feel that even my favorite movies had.

Jude Law is what caught me the most. Typical greedy fuck profiting in a time of crisis. Great metaphor.

Just wait until you starting seeing Sept-Decembers theatrical releases. Thats where the fucking juicey shit is. That happens every year for awards purposes but this year especially. There was so much shit packed into these last 4 months.

No, I've been lucky enough to have some theater whether it be a big one or small arthouse so I can watch them on release date.
