GotG is needed for Thanos, the Infinity Guantlet, and Rocket Raccoon (who overall, isn't important, but I just like him a lot). The movie is meant to be more of a primer for the next Avengers. I guess Avengers made so much, they can do these types of movies.

Ant-man... I just... I get the need for Pym (Ant Man) and eventually Janet van Dyne (Wasp), they are very important in the comics and are among the heroes who have been in the Avengers the longest. Pym made Ultron, who made Vision, both of which are bad ass characters in the comic books. Also, he and van Dyne are relatively important in series of comics like Onslaught and the Civil War, but neither of which will ever be made because of the random contracts with a million studios. I think they can introduce Ultron and Vision a different way by ret-conning and skip Ant Man all together. He is just so... minor of a super hero (but not as a character overall in the stories) that I am extremely surprised they would add him to Avengers 2 instead of people like War Machine, Black Panther, Luke Cage, Namor, or Ms. Marvel even. Any of which would probably be more interesting than Ant Man.

Also, here is the concept art for GotG showing the makeup of the team since there were several incarnations...

So I wonder if the Hulk is going to be involved with anything before Avengers 2.

Theres not one name there past Thanos of any significance for a movie. Every character mentioned can and should be a secondary character. Not enough screen time for all that. They can be there as eye candy and "oooo" moments.
Marvels taking a major gamble IMO. Everything led up to Avengers , and Whedon worked magic. Expecting interest in sequels to IM2 and C.A which were barely watchable is asking alot.

Far as GOTG ? Unnecessary. I dont recall what they have to do with the Infinity Gauntlet and Thor 2 should be the film used as a vehicle for I.G/Thanos introduction.
Best reason to have a license.

I don't see the Hulk as an individual movie guy anymore. He seems to be heavily based off the rest of the Avengers where Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor seem much better standalone characters than him. The problem with it also is that Hulk said in the movie he can control his rage (well, somewhat) and that kind of kills the theme of every Hulk movie ever.

Lets hope not. Hulks appeal IMO came inspite of previous movies not because of it. As with his comic hes only interesting when hes pissed off somewhat self aware and beating up good guys and bad guys. Every movie is a weak bruce banner vehicle that is forgettable. No reason he cant just make a cameo in I.M 3 steal a scene and keep that awesomeness going.

Here is the new Punisher short that was made starring Thomas Jane and Ron Perlman. I didn't know what to think considering the ups and downs of the Punisher series of movies, but this is everything a Punisher film should be and is completely amazing.

The description of the Ant-Man footage sounded amazing plus Edgar Wright can do no wrong.

Ant Man and Guardians of the Galaxy don't have to be the big budget blow em ups that Avengers/Iron Man. I'm happy thinking they will go the more 'indie' comic hero route that's been walked my movies like Hellboy. I don't think every movie has to be based on a character that sells thousands of books every month. If the guy has a good story, and is put in the hands of a good director who is passionate about the story (ala Ant Man and Edgar Wright), I think the movie will do fine

Guardians of the Galaxy, if it wasn't Marvel, I'd probably still be intrigued by a group of guys who number a talking racoon and tree among their posse.
