So evidently Hank Pym will be introduced in the next Avengers and then become Ant-Man in his movie directed by Edgar Wright to kick off Phase 3.

Thanos is going to be heavily involved in Guardians of the Galaxy.

The Avengers is going to focus on Ultron and introducing Hank Pym.

I thought I read that Joss Whedon came out and said that Hank Pym and Ant Man won't be in the Avengers 2.

              I could've sworn I read that too.

Yah. Sounds like Scott Lang will be our Ant Man. He's said that Pym isn't needed to create Ultron. I assume that means that Tony Stark will create it (as an evolution of JARVIS perhaps?).

Reddit r/comics was not happy with this news. Really, I don't care. I think the movie is going to be really good, and in the scope of the Cinematic Universe, it makes sense. If you want a world with Pym and such, go read the comics. There are really good Ultron stories, and really good Pym stories, and I'm not going to lose my mind when they don't match exactly. That's something I got over a long time ago (probably with X-Men 3, when none of the characters matched my minds eye). If it's a fun movie, with a good story, that keeps the general overtones of Ultron's creation, I'm not going to lose any sleep

They don't necessarily NEED to introduce Pym in this next Avengers movie for Ultron to still have been created by Pym though. It would be pretty lame if Stark makes it, but at the same Wheldon is probably leaving Ant-Man's intro in Edgar Wright's hands.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is looking for someone to "take over" for Tony Stark/RDJ...

So far, they seem to be feeding information that says it'll be Doctor Strange, but Pym could be a good move with the right casting, too.

I'd rather they stick to the comic story on this and introduce Hank Pym. He's one of Marvel's most important characters.

I'd rather them not rush out an Ant Man movie. Could they have taken a different story for avengers 2; yes, but I'm OK with this move

Edgar Wright has been trying to make this Ant-Man movie since '08. I have complete faith in him to kick off Phase 3 right.

Marvel caught lightning in a bottle with RDJ as Iron Man. Trying to match that type of perfect casting is nearly impossible. You can't just plug a guy in and reproduce that type of magic. If you could Bale as John Connor would have won an Oscar.
The rest of the Avengers were perfectly cast and none jump off screen like RDJ.
Closest has been Loki. Completely out of left field.
Best reason to have a license.

                                Mark Ruffalo was damn close.
