This seems lame.... So would they have an old Pym in other movies or is Rudd only going to be in this one film? Too bad since they really hit on this casting choice but then might not keep him around beyond the first installment. Pym is a character that could really help soften the blow of losing RDJ/Stark beyond Phase 3. Although it seems Stephen Strange is going to be a big part of this universe from Phase 3 onward.

Pym likely wouldn't be in other movies. If he was he'd already be mentioned since they are going with Ultron for Avengers 2

Joss Wheldon has already confirmed that Pym didn't create Ultron in his script. Which would be completely stupid if there wasn't a storyline in the comics where Ultron takes over Jarvis and inhabits one of Stark's suits. This makes even more sense in the films since Jarvis is a virtual intelligence. Also this would mean that Tony Stark is going to be a huge part of Avengers. So everyone is guaranteed their RDJ fix.

In Bendis' 1st Mighty Avengers story Ultron took control of Stark's suit to make himself look like the wasp...it was weird, So Ant Man is a 1shot deal?

Marvel’s “Ant-Man” has found its hero in Paul Rudd, who will star in the new film from director Edgar Wright hitting theaters July 31, 2015!

The casting of Rudd represents the actor that Marvel and Wright had long ago identified as its first choice to play Ant-Man, continuing the studio’s desire to cast actors that bring several dimensions to its onscreen heroes. The film’s plot is being kept under wraps.

“When Edgar Wright came to us with the idea of Paul Rudd, we felt a huge sense of relief because the first step in creating any Marvel Studios film is finding the right star," said Marvel's Kevin Feige. "We knew early on that we had found the right person in Paul. When he not only agreed to do it but became as enthusiastic as any actor we’d ever met with about doing the work, we knew we’d found the right guy. He has a great voice for it though, and he'll provide the motion capturing in the same way Ruffalo did for Hulk in Avengers. Meaning Vin IS Groot's body language, movement, some face expressions and features, etc.

I think it's a great move.

Michael Douglas to Star as Hank Pym in Marvel's Ant-Man

Michael Douglas has stepped into some of the biggest--or should that be tiniest?--shoes of his career.

The two-time Academy Award-winning actor will join director Edgar Wright and Paul Rudd in Marvel's "Ant-Man," hitting theaters July 31, 2015.

"With Hank Pym's rich history in the Marvel Universe, we knew we needed an actor capable of bringing the weight and stature to the role that the character deserves," said Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. "We felt incredibly relieved when Michael Douglas agreed to step into the part with the charm and fortitude he brings to every character he inhabits, and couldn't be more excited to see what he will do to bring Hank Pym to life."

Been thinking more about this since I'm at work and bored as shit. I think there's a chance that Rudd is actually gonna play Scott Lang's Ant-Man instead of Pym's. It hasn't been officially confirmed anywhere who Rudd is playing other than Ant-Man... Rudd could fit the mold of Lang more so than Pym. Just my 2 cents anyways.
