Fantastic news. I'm actually really excited for this movie. Edgar Wright + Paul Rudd + a bit of an unknown character should allow them to take some risks

Edgar Wright has been trying to make this Ant-Man movie for half a decade now. I fully expect him and Paul Rudd both to knock it out of the park and kick off Phase 3 in glorious fashion.

Also, I for one would jizz my pants if they give Rudd/Pym a cameo in the next Avengers. Even if it's brief.

Apparently Rudd will play Hank Pym and it will be set in the 60s. The movie will also feature Scott Lang as the current day Ant Man. That said, I doubt there is a Paul Rudd cameo in Avengers 2

This seems lame.... So would they have an old Pym in other movies or is Rudd only going to be in this one film? Too bad since they really hit on this casting choice but then might not keep him around beyond the first installment. Pym is a character that could really help soften the blow of losing RDJ/Stark beyond Phase 3. Although it seems Stephen Strange is going to be a big part of this universe from Phase 3 onward.

Been thinking more about this since I'm at work and bored as shit. I think there's a chance that Rudd is actually gonna play Scott Lang's Ant-Man instead of Pym's. It hasn't been officially confirmed anywhere who Rudd is playing other than Ant-Man... Rudd could fit the mold of Lang more so than Pym. Just my 2 cents anyways.
