They've started talking with RDJ for Iron Man 4. He's apparently going to take the point for his homies on Avengers so they can keep up with him. However, Marvel/Disney are ultra cheap. You have to think that with the mega bucks Avenbers made (and the smaller bit Thor did), they will get paid eventually

I'd still prefer a Namor movie above all else. I wonder if there are issues with his character rights. I really need to go find a list of all the characters who fall under the Fantastic Four umbrella

No more standalone Iron Man films please. It's becoming stale and we've already ran through a good chunk of his villians

He's a mutant. Apparently they are running in to issues with Quiksilver and Scarlett Witch as they want to bring them in to Avengers world but can't say the world because of the way the deal with Fox is

He didn't join the cast of the X-Men until long after the movie rights were distributed.

Actually they've already stated that Fox does not own the rights to Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. The big issue would be retconning their backgrounds since they could no longer be known as Magnetos children. Apparently they already easter egg'd Scarlet Witch as she is Agent Coulson's cellist girlfriend. I'd imagine Scarlet Witch would be retconned as Dr Strange's daughter or apprentice

Was his mutant origin determined before hand though? My understanding is the issue is around the mutant background and not around any team membership

Ms Marvel - Her current series is getting rave reviews but I know nothing about her other than I what I've read in Bendis' Avengers/New Avengers. She's usually very tertiary in those stories
Blade(reboot) - Enjoyed Snipes, so why not
The Runaways - very good movie potential
Dr Strange - could be interesting. He has a very Batman-esque origin (see Year 1)
Iron Fist - Whoooooooooooooo! I love Danny Rand, so a big win. I assume this will be their answer to Daredevil since they don't have him right now (and Rand stood in for Murdock for a period)
Black Panther - as discussed in CB, I have no opinon. Panther isn't a favorite
Avengers 3 - obvs exciting but very obvious

It pained me to somewhat talk shit on him, as I really like Rand too (I really enjoyed the stuff I read that Brubaker did), but he just kind of rings as a "works on the page, won't on film" kind of character. I hope that I'm proven wrong though.

Iron Fist would be better done in a Heroes for Hire ensemble film. Basically get him, Luke Cage, Colleen Wing, and Misty Knight together as a private alternative to The Avengers determined to clean up the city from criminal threats

Even that would be tough to do and it not be lame, but I do agree: him carrying a movie is going to be tough.

Yeah. If they were smart they'd use their new Agents of SHIELD TV show to introduce these secondary characters to the public and get their origins out of the way so you don't need to waste big screen time.

Only confirmed new heroes that have been confirmed for Phase 3 are Ant-Man and Doctor Strange. So stoked for Strange, I wonder who they'll cast.
