    Greg Rucka, Emily Rios

Not sure if anyone took up the free code I posted earlier. If you did, I'd like to hear your thoughts as well.

I really like Dr Strange, and had heard good things about this book, particularly the art. For those not familiar with the Season 1 concept, they are self contained origin graphic novels, meant to be written and sold as a single package. This one delved further in to the relationship between Strange and Wong than I had ever seen. To be honest, I thought Wong was more of a Jarvis style servant than ass kicking mystic. This book goes back to why Strange became who he is, from the terrible car crash that ruined his hands to the journey he took to try and get that back. Along the way, obviously, he comes to release his 'rational' thinking and embrace the mysticism that he is confronted with.

For the art, I will say I liked it. However, I found some panels tough to follow. Rios used black lines that I found distracting and blended action sequences together in to one (if that makes sense). It sometimes took me a minute to figure out what I was looking at in an important plot sequence.

Well since Death of the Family is on It's last issue and there has been leaks on it it'll be a waste of time posting about it. I'll be posting tomorrow Aquaman/JLA Throne for Atlantis It's pretty interesting and a good read.

              Some questions..

Calgary are the V1/2 Avengers you posted Graphic Novels or just single issues ?

              My most recent reads were
              Civil War
              Planet Hulk
              WW Hulk
              Old Man Logan
I absolutely loved Planet and Old man , really enjoyed WW and thought Civil War was ok.

I havent read any single issues of anything other than whats in those for eons. So Im up for any cool GN from marvel. Do Red Hulk and Illuminati have any cool ones becuase I keep hearing them mentioned by others but no idea what they are about.

Also do any of you guys read on tablets ?
Best reason to have a license.

Those were the trades. Fear Itself Avengers would actually be V3 in that run

I read on my Asus Transformer Prime all the time, primarily via Comixology. I find it to be a really, really nice app. The 'auto' read function does a great job of allowing you to enjoy the artwork of each panel while also ensuring you see the page as a whole.

I won't lie, I also read some 'obtained' digital comics via the various Android apps and it does a good job on that too

Who are some of your favorite comic-book artists? Here's my list -

                      John Byrne
                      Walt Simonson
                      Todd McFarlane
                      John Buscema
                      Neal Adams
                      Barry Smith
                      Bill Sienkiewicz
                      George Perez
Jim Starlin (his work on Captain Marvel is legendary. He also did Iron Man #55 which I still have. It's Thanos first appearance)
Dale Keown (his version of the Hulk is my favorite. He and Peter David had an incredible run on the title)
Billy Graham (Hero for Hire, Black Panther)
Paul Gulacy (loved his work on Shang-Chi, Master of Kung Fu)
                      Dave Cockrum
Well, it looks like your skewing a bit more old school than I will, even though I do agree with your picks (love the David/Keown Hulk)

                      Recent Faves:
David Aja - Hawkeye is probably my favorite looking book out there, and it's Aja that's done my favorite issues. The layout, the art, it all just screams fun
Emma Rios - thought her art on Dr Strange was gorgeous
Frank Quitely - any team up with Morrison was bound to bring amazing art and great story
Ming Doyle - not sure how Mara is doing, but she draws a great action scene in a very good book
Esad Ribic - the new Thor is luscious.

Other series that I've liked recently, mostly with rotation artists: Avengers (Oneda and Kubert I think), Daredevil (Samnee),

                          Green lantern rebirth

That goes directly into Green lantern #1 by geoff johns

And thatll go into Sinestro Corps War

Which then goes into Blackest Night

Everything is pretty contained in the core GL book until sinestro corps which has a few spinoffs and blackest night which was a huge DC event with spin offs and a core mini series

Seems as if its been a while since #3, Steve Epting is amazing..now while I dropped Hickman's Avengers, cuz it just kind of lost me; his run on this book has been epic in terms of quality and scope
