All hate for me aside, as a James Bond fan ... Adele is the closest thing to Shirley Bassey they've ever had.

Expect a groan from me tomorrow when I get off my phone.

Will we look back on 2011-2020 as the decade of the female artist?
Nope. Women have been making great music for many decades, youngster.

                    Ya don't say..

Admittedly, the "decade of the female artist" tagline I used here was Grantland-ishly ridiculous. I just feel like I've stumbled upon many great female artists that have either debuted or risen in popularity this past year and was wondering if anyone else was also experiencing this. It sounds silly considering that just as many women are out there making music as men are but I still found it interesting. I had never even heard of Jessie Ware until a couple months ago and she might have released my favorite album of the year.

And Houston, trust me..I know Fleetwood Mac, especially that song.

"Are we seeing a resurgence of the songstress?" would have been a proper title if you really wanted to drive home the Klostermann tone.
