One of my favorites was The 3 faces of Eve.

Also do you enjoy the older anime's considered as classics. Like Akira or Princess Mononoke?
Saw Imitation of Life once when I was really young, so I hardly remember anything about it other than I know I saw it. I might have to go back & see it again.

Never saw The 3 Faces of Eve.

Somehow, I've only seen bits & pieces here & there. I've been meaning to watch it all the way through. Since I'm on a bit of a horror flick binge I might fit that in before Halloween gets here.

    Thanx, fellas.

Yeah I like older movies alot, to me it seems like majority of newer movies are like "hey come look at this one thing, doesn't this make the movie good, did you enjoy that one thing?" I don't know they seem kinda narrow compared to older ones.

IMO the older movies just let the movie flow like you were right there in real life, they don't say "hey the audience is getting bored let's go to this scene to get their attention again". Which is why alot of people now-a-days would consider them boring. Eh, I like them though

I love plenty of older movies as well. It just so happens I haven't seen "...Eve" and its been a long while since I've seen "IoL". I have interspersed a couple of oldies in with my smorgasbord of horror and some time this week (or maybe next weekend) I'll have a review up for The 400 Blows and Bullets or Ballots.

And some newer movies, as well so the rest of you shouldn't worry.

              Pieces
              1983. Rate R, 90 minutes.
              Director: Juan Piquer Simon.
Starring Paul Smith, Linda Day, Christopher George, Edmund Purdom.

A homicidal maniac is loose on campus, chopping up co-eds with a chainsaw at "The University". This thing is poorly written, poorly shot, completely retarded, occasionally random and often bloody. The unintentional humor meter is cranked to ten. Think about this scenario: After a couple girls have gotten hacked up, the police decide to send in an undercover agent. Two seconds after we meet her, one of the male students, who is initially a suspect, comes out of the room where he was being questioned and says to her "Hey, aren't you Mary Riggs, the tennis champion" or something like that. And, why yes, she is! Just so you keep it straight, a well known tennis champ works on the side as an undercover officer (or is tennis her side gig?). Better than that even, is the fact the newspaper reporter covering the story also knows she's the one being sent in to work undercover. Oh, and wait till you see her "playing" tennis. Let's just say the producers didn't waste any money trying to make her believable or anything crazy like that. Oh, did I mention that the killer usually leaves his chainsaw at the scene of the crime but the police never bother trying to get prints off of it or anything ridiculous like that. And wait until you see the final shot. Wow. Quite obviously, I had to love this movie. It's absolutely so bad its awesome.
              MY SCORE: -10/10

Just got back from Law Abiding Citizen, when it comes out on DVD you'll have to see it. Its plot is not original by no means but the dialogue was great and it was very creative.

Sorry, forgot to address this earlier. Haven't watched much anime, I've seen a few though, but have been planning to see these, plus Vampire Hunter D sometime in the near future. Especially Princess Mononoke. The closest Blockbuster to me just announced they'll be closing soon & they have a copy of it on the shelves. I hope to snag it when they start selling everything off.

Buzz: yeah, I definitely plan on seeing Law Abiding Citizen.

Whoa, for a second I thought you gave that a 10/10. lol I didn't see the minus part. And yeah I interested in seeing how you'd rate Princess Mononoke.

Just Watched The Midnight Meat Train and it was fucked up and really cheap, the short story it was based on explained it more then the 90 min movie.

nope, 10 mins is about it....lol....that scene was enough for me to stop and wait. idk why i started watching it cause i was in the mood to laugh....and that was the wrong flick for that....lol

bruges just didnt do it for me. i think the bigger reason is the english accents. that makes it hard for me to understand the dialog and i am so focused understanding what they say that i miss the point....if that makes sense

                          dell i ahve a question.

why is it that whenevr a movie has been redone IE tale of two sisters and Uninvited, that the original is always seen as the better version unanimously.

Is there any movie you can think of where the remake was better?

I have not seen Harvey. A quick glance at the plot summary on imdb.com makes me think it was "re-imagined" as the infinitely overrated Donnie Darko. I'd have to see it to say how I felt about Spielberg doing it.
