i watched the hurt locker. I thought it was pretty good. I probably wouldnt watch it again cause it didnt really grab me. I dont know if it was the lack of any real story or what. The situations they were in didnt even grab me to the point where i felt like i was sucked into the film. it was a good movie to watch though.

i also watched up in the air....the george cloony movie. That one was pretty good. i was disapointed by the ending, but overall i felt like it was a good story and kept me entertained throughout.

the best scene was the chick wearing the tie around her waist. she looked great, but not because she was another naked chick on the screen but because at her age she looked fantastic. Of course it could have been a body double

That's part of the problem with knowing a lot of other people like a movie before you watch it. Expectations go through the roof & it struggles to impress. For me, I'm really comparing it strictly to other haunted house flicks that I've seen & it stands apart from most of them.

Heard about it, never saw it. I'll have to check it out.

As far as The Hurt Locker goes, see my response above to hype about Paranormal Activity. But yeah, I said it doesn't have a plot & some would be turned off a bit by that.

Agreed, Vera Farmiga looks great in Up in the Air. To the best of my knowledge, that is actually her in nude scene. Though, I haven't researched this, so who knows.

It is not Vera Farmiga in the nude scene. She just had a kid and didn't want to be seen naked so quickly after.

Yup, a quick googling of "Vera Farmiga body double" reveals that you are correct.

yes she did. She said that she has no problems with being naked on camera, she just didn't want to do it so soon after having a child.

                  Dell's Classics Presents:

                  Das Boot
                  Directed by Wolfgang Petersen.
                  1981. Rated R, 209 minutes.
                  Cast:
                  Jurgen Prochnow
                  Herbert Gronemeyer
                  Klaus Wennermann
                  Hubertus Bengsch
                  Martin Semmelrogge
                  Bernd Tauber
                  Erwin Leder
                  Martin May

We follow the crew of a Nazi-German U-Boat (submarine, for those unaware) during World War II. This is largely a plotless movie far more concerned with getting to know this particular group of men. We come to know them quite well, actually. The film turns the seemingly impossible trick of creating empathy for men who fought as part of Hitler's war machine. It does this by focusing on their plight as a crew that gets jerked around by the higher-ups. They're stressed, overworked and under supplied and all the while, looking for their next target. It also helps there's no talk of Jews and the related atrocities and any hint of the arrogance we come to associate with Nazis is scoffed at. Even a number of the crew themselves, including ship's captain (Prochnow), aren't fully sold on Hitler as a great leader.

When one thinks of cinematography, he usually thinks of beautiful wide-open exteriors that resemble picturesque landscape paintings. Here, it's the exact opposite worked to perfection. Through many shots of the ships claustrophobia inducing interior, and the fact we spend about 95% of our three and a half hours there, we feel how tightly packed the men are and develop cabin fever right along with them. Still, it never forgets it's a war picture and gives us some really tense combat scenes without us actually seeing much of what's going on outside the ship. Well, we don't see much until the action of the heart-wrenching finale. It isn't until then we realize how vested we've become in the lives of these men. If you call yourself a war movie buff, this is a must-see. Just make sure you have a large chunk of day carved out for it's perusal.

also, to the dude who said Funny Games was good. I don't know if he watched the remake or the original. The remake had Michael Pitt and Nicole Kidman, the original was a foreign film that was terrible. I can't imagine the remake improving anything.
You mean Naomi Watts. The same writer/director from the original remade his own movie. I heard they were both pretty bad, with the newer one being even worse, but I haven't seen it myself.

                              2008. Rated R, 109 minutes.

                              Seth Green
                              Katrina Bowden
                              Cole Petersen
                              Mark L. Young

Plot: Virginal but horny Ian (Zuckerman) decides to drive nine hours away when the girl he's met online says she'll "go all the way" for him, if he comes all the way for her. Of course, he has his chick-magnet buddy Lance (Duke) and BFF Felicial (Crew) in tow. Wackiness ensues.

The Good: There are pockets of real humor. In particular, the brief scenes involving Ian's soon-to-be step-mom are uncomfortably funny. I also enjoyed Seth Green's reluctantly Amish mechanic and the carnival scene where our heroes mistakenly wind up at an abstinence rally.

The Bad: Those pockets of humor are far and in between. Besides that, the story is exactly the same as a thousand other movies and is easily sniffed out within minutes of the opening credits. It's one of those movies that even if you never actually watch it, you've probably seen before.

The Ugly: What the step-mom slips on.

Recommendation: If you have to see another model off the teen sex comedy assembly line, have at it. This one never rises to the level of the gleefully gross hysteria of Superbad and isn't as depraved and horrible as Miss March. It falls somewhere in the middle and is kind of bland for a movie of this nature. Well, the unrated version is horrible. It throws in so much random stuff, it makes no sense. Most of what's thrown in is only there of fulfill the obligation to be raunchier and earn it's unrated status. While that might sound interesting, it's really not. So if you actually want to see the movie, watch the theatrical version first.

                              What the Internet Says: 6.8/10 on imdb.com (2/15/10), 46% on rottentomatoes.com, 49/100 on metacritic.com

                              MY SCORE: 5/10

Terrible movie...and I have friends that swear by it being great. They had me see it and I couldn't believe how bad it was.

I mean, there was a scene in it that was like 20 minutes long with no words as the wife and husband were wandering around their living room near death...retarded.

                                F- film, for sure.
