Weeds got pretty bad. It wasn't a length, so much as a similar rationale I got from Dexter and shit like that...where I'm committed and just want the fucking show over already.

I had to handwave Weeds, I couldn't take it anymore.

Wish I handwaved Dexter, but it's to the point that I've come this far, so I have to finish. This past week I lost interest and started fucking around on my laptop in record time.

As someone who took the whole ride with Weeds I wanted this to be terrible....

...it's good, what more can I say. It's fun and light but it's rooted in something compelling and real. I'm only four episodes in but this is better than anything you'll see on your Sunday night TV schedule right now.

Also, Nick Sobotka is fucking killing it so far.

This show was really slow up until around Episode 7 or 8, and then it started getting good. Last 4 episodes or so are pretty decent.

Of all of the Netflix shows so far, this is the first one that looks like it might have the power to go 4, 5, 6 seasons. Its essentially a really light version of Oz in a women's prison.

A few thoughts.

-Piper is an incredibly unlikable character. The definition of an ego-centric, over-educated cunt. Awful character. I wish all of life's bad things happen to her.
-This show is made decent by everyone BUT Piper. What a terrible character. Beecher was an incredibly likable character. You saw how good of a man he was and what prison actually turned him into. Piper is not likable. She's an incredibly distasteful person.
-Is it just me, or is Jason Biggs' sole role in any form of film to jerk off at least once. Why is he the go-to masturbator?
-Best character on the whole show is Jason Biggs' dad. I wish my dad would have given me some of the most direct, matter-of-fact answers to life's questions as much as this guy does. He might be one of the Top 10 TV dads of all time.
-I can not describe how accurate they depict the Latinas in this show. They have the token low class chonga down to an artform in this show. Kudos.
-Anyone from the NY/NJ/PA knows its not "Pennsatucky"...its Pennsyltucky.

I had to wave off Weeds as well. Got to season six and said I couldn't take it anymore, and moved on. That is what kind of scares me about this show, because I could easily see Jenji losing it like on Weeds and going in a fucked up direction. I hope they don't add years onto her sentence, because the 15 months or whatever is perfect. If Breaking Bad taught us anything, it is you can tell a story in a year or two's time, and not have to worry about a time frame fuck up.

During the first episode, it seemed like it took forever just for her to finally reach the prison.
