    Scott Rolen to the Reds

Just popped up on my Fantasy Roster. I have Rolen on my bench and it was part of his alerts. He needs to approve it and no specifics on what the Jays receive.

    nooooooooooooo

Rolen is a solid ball player...he needed to teach those cunts we call stars in toronto how to play though tough times.

*prays for the thread Wells traded to bumfuckJapan for a pair of spring rolls and a cup of sake"

    but instead I get this.

Yea its too bad. Goes from a top 5 offense to the bottom of the barrel. Ricciardi really had it in for this guy, apparently he gets to be re-united with his old GM.

I hope his contract expires soon, he can prolly be a kickass 3B/DH somewhere in the AL. I think it expires in 2010.

This deal makes zero sense for the Reds.

Rolen has been tremendous this year. Dont fret with losing EE because hes pretty bad. Dont know much about the prospects. Dont really know why the Reds wanted Rolen tho, they aint competing this year regardless.

                  Why?

                  Rolen is better than Encarnacion.

I can't figure out why Rolen would want to go to Cincinnati,

I could understand him wanting to be traded to a contender or better market, but Cincinnati?

From what I heard from the GM himself, Rolen wanted out of Toronto due to family reasons.

Why not? They're going about as far as Toronto this year.

Cincy has a very good young pitching staff, a dominant closer, and a good core of young bats in Votto, Bruce & Phillips.

They were contending up until the All Star break, before the injuries took their toll. It's a solid young nucleas.

This move is something I would have liked...had we been in the playoff race. This team played way over its head in the first half, and now true colors are showing. Once the Reds are competing/in the playoffs, I guarantee Rolen will not be a part of it because it is a year or two down the road, and Rolen is very old.

Who cares about this year? He won't be tremendous next year, or in 2011, when the Reds should be thinking about contending. Not this year, when they are 10 games back.

You just traded for a 34 year old 3b who can't stay healthy and has 8 HRs this year. He's had 27 total since 2007.

This makes no sense, unless they really just wanted to unload Encarnacion because he was hitting atrociously.
