They should stick with the umpiring system they have now. I don't like the idea of going computerized. All I ask for from the home plate umpire is consistency and not letting the players influence you.

What they should do is add an additional umpire in a booth upstairs who looks at every close play in question and if there is a need to go that specific umpire, the crew on the field can make a quick call to the umpire in the booth to find out what the correct call is. By the time they walk to the phone (could be in one of the dugouts) the decision should be made so the delay wouldn't take long.

Joe Blanton has been picked to start Game 4 of the World Series for the defending champion Philadelphia Phillies.

Overturn of that HR was terrible I think. There wasn't a single angle that showed it was inconclusively a HR.

          Ugh.

And I'm not just saying that because I'm a Yankees fan lol

It was close, I agree...I dunno though, you can't call it based on what you "think" it might have been. After looking at every angle, I can't see how you can overturn it.

And I'm not just saying that because I'm a Phillie fan lol ;)

                Doesn't really matter now...FML.

Still, how a previous WSMVP gives up an RBI single to Andy Petitte...I still can't really think about it without gagging.

It definitely looked like it was going to go over the rail if not for the camera. The ball was on its way down when it hit but it hit the top part of the camera lens. Either way people would complain about the decision but I do believe it was going over.

Simple solution to fix the problem though, move the fucking cameras 3 feet back. Why in the world would you have the camera in the field of play?

edit: 2-1 series lead with CC going tomorrow. Hopefully we are able to take a 3-1 lead before we have to face Lee again.

MLB said the camera was out of position and will be moved.

BTW, there was nothing "inconclusive" about that call.

That loss hurt, I can't lie. Tonight is basically our elimination game. Can't go down 3-1 to NY, just can't do it.

Cole Hamels is a certified pussy this year. He needs to develop a third pitch this off season because a 2 pitch pitcher won't work in the MLB.

PS-ARod's ball was a HR, imo, they got the call right

John Kruk was mad as hell last night over the overturned call

I'm still scratching my head as to why Hamels would throw Andy a curve ball.......that was a huge turning point in the game....that's probably the only pitch he can hit lol

Last year he was money in the playoffs....he's still young enough to develop that third pitch

If we win tonight then we are right back in it with Lee going Game 5, but there is no way in hell Joe Blanton wins tonight.

No doubt. He is only 25 and still learning how to pitch. He really needs to focus this off season and get his shit together. Next season will be a big one for Hamels to see if he can turn it around.
