Yeah, the more I think about it, its not even close. Phillies by a mile.

You know Hamels' ERA is .5 lower than your golden boy right?
And 3 of your guys are over 4.0 ERA, so I still don't think we are equal, we have 3 Aces and 2 of them are having outstanding seasons and one is having a good one. Blanton is on his way to turning it around, he's going deep into games and managing his counts better.
Phillies > Braves. And you DON'T have the best manager in the NL East. What's he done in the last 5 years? Except for setting a record for how many times he's been kicked out of a game.
Hamels is an ace?
And LOL at Oswalt's debut. 3.5 now, but who's counting?Comment

Good job knocking Oswalt too, because he woulda made that debut for you guys too, if you hadn't run out of money and would have acquired him.

The quality of competition Lee goes up against in the AL is much better than what Halladay sees now in the NL.
But really they're both outstanding pitchers and Philly could have had both of them, now they have an overrated Roy Oswalt instead.Originally posted by ram29jacksonI already said months ago that Seattle wasn't winning any SBComment

Wait, because he did it one season he is now considered an ace? We're allowed to give guys entire seasons to regroup after they do their job?
I think the Phillies guys and Nahste need to find some middle ground here. In no way shape or form is Cole Hamels a bonafide ace, you don't think "ace" and think of Cole Hamels. Is he a good starting pitcher, yes, but is he an ace, that's largely debatable.
Hamels ERA, WHIP, BABIP, and FIP are all worse than his 2008 season, and in this "year of the pitcher" his stats do not look as stellar next to a prototypical ace. So please, give me a break with Cole Hamels is an ace, hes not on that elite level yet.Comment

Honestly though, my comment was based more on the Oswalt part.Comment
