It's your classic "Gimme the bad news first..." scenario. Phils third baseman Placido Polanco has a small break in his left elbow. The good news, however, is that it's not expected to sideline him, with surgery scheduled for after the season. The news comes via an interview with the AP.
Polly has already spent time on the DL due to elbow issues after getting plunked hard earlier this season. Hopefully this doesn't get any worse and further affect his swing, or worse, require another trip to the DL.

The Phils pushed Kendrick's start back to Saturday, allowing Oswalt to pitch on regular rest Friday night vs. the Nats. This makes sure the Phils will have their top 3 pitchers going against the Braves next week. Looks like it will be Hamels on Monday, Halladay on Tuesday and Oswalt on Wednesday.Comment

On a side note........how the fuck does Kendrick still have a job?!@

Big opportunity for the Phils tonight. The Marlins have no starter tonight and we have one of our aces going. We need this game.Comment

Roy Halladay will get an extra day rest before his next two starts. Probably could use it. Has a 4.41 ERA in his last five starts
