    Interesting.

So I guess this means Vlad isn't coming back to Texas then, since Young will be moving to DH.

Unless they move Young to 1st but I doubt that happens. Moreland hit .462 in the world series.

From what I hear they are trying to trade Young.

About 0% chance of that happening, IMO. While he's a solid player, he's not even close to worth what they gave him in his extension.

He's due $16m per year through 2013, and has a no-trade clause. Pretty sure not very many teams are looking for a very average 34-year-old IF making that much money. Especially considering how bad he is defensively. I mean, considering how much hype he gets for being "versatile" in moving from SS to 2B to 3B, he's actually a well below average fielder at all three positions.

So, yeah, I'd lay you pretty big odds that he's pretty much a Ranger for life.

And it's that kind of sentiment that got him that albatross of a contract. The whole rah rah, he's a team player thing inflated his value quite a bit over the years. I mean, yeah he's a solid hitter, but $16m per year for him is absurd.

Yeah, I love how his "team player" reputation is based on his willingness to no longer play positions he's unqualified to play anyway.

Not too happy with this signing really. I thought Michael Youngs contract was abominable

Dumbest deal in quite sometime. The Rangers went bankrupt once and stupid moves like this will send them right back the same way, new owners or not.

Jayson Werth says hi. Good to see you posting though, Roog.
