About 0% chance of that happening, IMO. While he's a solid player, he's not even close to worth what they gave him in his extension.
He's due $16m per year through 2013, and has a no-trade clause. Pretty sure not very many teams are looking for a very average 34-year-old IF making that much money. Especially considering how bad he is defensively. I mean, considering how much hype he gets for being "versatile" in moving from SS to 2B to 3B, he's actually a well below average fielder at all three positions.
So, yeah, I'd lay you pretty big odds that he's pretty much a Ranger for life.Comment

And it's that kind of sentiment that got him that albatross of a contract. The whole rah rah, he's a team player thing inflated his value quite a bit over the years. I mean, yeah he's a solid hitter, but $16m per year for him is absurd.Comment

Yeah, I love how his "team player" reputation is based on his willingness to no longer play positions he's unqualified to play anyway.Comment
