I applaud ESPN for forcing their guys to make the votes public ... but at the same time, it kind of infuriates me seeing how stupid this shit is. I think VSN could do a better job than half of these guys.

None of us are voting for Tino Martinez, Mattingly or Surhoff.

I think we could do better.

I can (almost) rationalize someone voting for a guy like Mattingly or Dale Murphy...someone who had a great but short prime. I do not understand the Tino Martinez or BJ Surhoff votes, because there is no rationalization. They have no HOF credentials whatsoever. Thats why I don't get how Marquis Grissom got 4 votes...I can see maybe one guy voting for Grissom as a joke, but four?? Why?

Robbie Alomar spits in the face of the HOF.

First person to go in as a Blue Jay tho. Love that guy.

Loved Jayson Starks piece on the HOF. Ater reading it I agree w/80% of his ballot. Although I'd replace his Raffy and Mac votes with McGriff and Lee Smith.

Jayson Stark has been one of the only baseball guys I respect at ESPN.

Between him, Tim K, and Gammons I think they are fantastic.

I love Kruky too...but who the hell doesn't?

I wish ESPN's football and basketball coverage was as good as their baseball.

I have a bad taste about Kruk. I had a friend who used to work in the Phillies organization during college and he said Kruk was around alot was a total prick off camera and alot of people agreed.

                          but he seems aight.

He's the only one who voted for Larry Walker ... WTF? Worldwide Leader in Sports my ass.

Gammons works for MLB network now. ESPN's baseball coverage took a hit when they started hiring guys like Nomar, Fernando Vina, Aaron Boone and Orestes Destrada. All are terrible on camera and offer nothing insightful about the game.

I actually like their web content though. Stark, Rob Neyer and Keith Law are all tolerable.

That and Rocky V are some of the few things I will refuse to acknowledge.

You also forgot Bobby Valentine and Eduardo Perez...and Dave Winfield.

I miss Harold Reynolds as well.

Agreed. Vina was an unlikable POS as a player and he wasn't even very good. I don't know how he parlayed his horrible personality and below-average baseball career into a broadcasting gig.
