    Old Hoss Radbourn on Twitter

    That's right....

    OLD HOSS RADBOURN. ON TWITTER.

    Some really great stuff:

Also, saying "it's the Union that's the enemy" in my day meant you were a deuced secessionist.
Down with BYU! I can not stand cultures that encourage practices dissimilar from my own. This was my excuse for killing many red men.
The new opposable thumb will really help J. Lackey in his quest to open a can of beer with a deer femur.
The major flaw with today's Spring Training: not enough stabbings. Blood-letting is a skill that must be honed, lest it be lost.
I well remember my spring training schedule: Wake. Whisky. Throw CG. Snack. "Nooner." Cheroot. Throw CG. Nap. Throw CG. Carouse. Repeat.
    W. Mo Pena is one of those players I'm pretty sure I could have struck out on two pitches.
Two hits thus far given up by T. Lincecum. I predict a 2W, 29L season for the lad.
Myself a superstar, I would appreciate it if you all stopped sullying this term by applying it to C. Bosh

        Two more great ones:

An injured team mate was once instructed to hit off a tee when rehabilitating. He immediately died of shame.
Red Sox 1B A. Gonzalez hit off a tee this morning. Coming up this afternoon: some knitting, a tofu salad, tea with the gals.

And I just checked out the adspace on his baseball-reference page. Amazing.

Gaze below at the statistical flibberdigab that supposedly represent the greatness that was my career. But these numbers are useless: there are no columns for pints consumed, harlots bedded, or blades brandished.

          I DIED

"This D.Gooden "Celebrity Rehab" news is almost as shocking as W.H. Taft's appearance on the program for his addiction to Hamburg Steaks"

The Wily Mo Pena one from the OP is also gold.

I was so against Twitter for so long but since diving in head first it's actually a pretty great medium. And yeah W2B, the Taft/Hamburg steaks tweet almost made it into my OP. I wanted to save a few good ones for everyone else.

There was nothing quite like striking out a hitter after working him to a gentlemanly 7-2 count.

In my day players "popped greenies" all the time. This of course referred to assaulting irishmen.

As many of you have astutely pointed out, the best player in "MLB® 1885 The Show™" was of course J. Moyer.

I assume that after J. Verlander's meager 114-pitch game of catch yesterday he is ready to throw both ends of a double-header today.
Ah, Opening Day. In 1885 I hit for the cycle: threw a CG, rogered a 'mate's wife, burnt down the bull pen, stabbed an opponent. #nostalgia

"Doubles are spawned in the batters box." I am done. Thanks, T. McCarver. I just tried to kill myself, and I'm already dead.

If my skipper pulled me with a 7-4 lead in the bottom of the 5th I would poison him and his entire clan.

This fellow who ate J. Chamberlain is not throwing well.

My plan to dominate my fantasy base ball league by drafting one pitcher and starting him every day appears, in retrospect, to be faulty.

                              K. Farnsworth earned a save. Coincidentally, I just observed the birth of a two-headed calf and a river turn into blood.

In my day, of course, a pitcher took his own life if the "suicide squeeze" was successfully employed against him.

The Red Sox are 0-3 and have been outscored 26-11. They hold 7th place in their Bristol, CT PR firm's recent "Power Rankings."

Faugh! This M. Holliday is soft. I once removed my appendix between innings. It was fine: I was just being cautious. CG. Struck out 15.
