I don't know, I remember the teams in the mid 2000's being able to do well against both. At least one year, we took the season series from Boston and came out .500 against the Yankees. So I'm not sold on it yet, nor am I going to be upset over the game last night, because everyone was dead from the previous night.

Still, it is exciting for us and I hope it continues. As Lefty said, the fans definitely deserve it.

Going to try and keep up with things daily going down the stretch.

Great win against Boston tonight. Chen still pitching well, and Romero came in relief and pitched a scoreless inning. 8-2 in their last 10, and who would have thought even a month ago that Omar Quintanilla, Nate McLouth and Manny Machado would be in the starting lineup right now and actually playing well? Dan Duquette deserves a whole lot of credit for assembling this team.

I was at the Orioles game last Monday the 6th with my girlfriend and her family. Really nice stadium although pretty much nobody was there, we bought $10 seats and ended up behind the third base foul line, plus we got on TV for a few seconds. Markakis hit an absolute bomb which was nice to see.

It will take more than one good year for the fans to come back to the Orioles in droves. I went to the Marlins new stadium for a Monday game and they weren't even full, so take that for what its worth.

PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks have traded left-hander Joe Saunders to the Baltimore Orioles for right-handed reliever Matt Lindstrom and cash considerations or a player to be named later.

Saunders, who was scheduled to start Sunday against San Diego, was 6-10 with a 4.22 ERA in 21 starts with Arizona this season. He won 12 games last season while helping the Diamondbacks win their first NL West title since 2007.

Lindstrom went 1-0 with a 2.72 ERA in 34 appearances with the Orioles this season. He has held right-handers to a .207 average and scoreless in 10 of his past 11 outings.

Lindstrom has played six major league seasons with Miami, Houston, Colorado and Baltimore.

To fill Lindstrom's place on the 25-man roster, the Orioles recalled right-hander Jake Arrieta from Triple-A Norfolk. Arrieta, Baltimore's opening day starter, went 3-9 with a 6.13 ERA in 18 starts with the Orioles before being optioned to Norfolk on July 5.

Good move for the Orioles to acquire a solid lefty, but I'm not sure how he will fare in the AL East. I'm also not very enthused with giving up a live arm from the bullpen who has done a great job this season, and replacing him with Arrieta.

7-3 in their past 10, and on a four game winning streak currently. Tillman shut down the Sox today as well, four walks but only allowed one hit in the combined shutout.

Did Britton really pitch that game? 8 IP, 10 K and 1 ER. Now 3 back from the Yanks for the division lead.

Also, Randy Wolf is expected to be added to the roster very shortly, as Britton was sent down to AAA. He is still expected to be back for his Sept 4th start, however.

Orioles take two of three from the Yankees, with help from two HRs by Mark Reynolds today. Randy Wolf pitched well in relief earning the win, but if Tillman is out for any length of time, it's going to hurt.

Another good game from starting pitching, as Saunders and three relievers combined to three-hit the Jays today. Now we are a game behind the Yankees with their loss today

I'm stunned at where the Orioles are right now. Never could have predicted this. A winning season is a certainty, playoffs are likely. Just crazy. I'll be going to a playoff game, if they make it there.

Same. I was 11 the last time they made it. That will be a hot ticket for sure. Have to put the bleachers out in right field over the scoreboard again. Would be a great thing to see.

Let's hope the Rays hold on to beat the Yanks since this one is over.

I went to one of the divisional games against the Seattle Mariners in 1997. Was in the upper deck in left field, a Jay Buhner home run hit the first two rows, which was 10 in front of us.
