Mark Reynolds continues to have a hot bat, and that's only a good thing for this offense heading down the stretch. Also, Britton turns in yet another fantastic performance from the starting pitching.

I really like the work that Correnti and Petersen are doing in the minor leagues this season.

Four game series against the Yankees starting tonight, after taking two games from Toronto. Jason Hammel makes his return to the mount tonight, and he's followed by Chen, Saunders and Britton.

This is a huge series for us and we definitely have the pitching to get it done. Just hope the offense can explode.

Sadly won't be watching the game, but it's a success even if we break even with the Yanks. It sucks losing Markakis, but after everything that has happened this season injury wise, I think the team has the "next man up" mantra. The only thing we can't have is Chris Davis back in the outfield.

Markakis officially out for six weeks, this whole season for him has sucked. Great while on the field, and was right at home in the leadoff spot, but how is a guy going to spend his entire career healthy and waiting for a run at the playoffs, to be on the DL twice with hand injuries and miss the stretch run.

Orioles handled the Rays tonight, back in a tie for first place. Some more good news, Kevin Gregg is officially done, as he was DFA. Not like he was going to be re-signed over the off-season, but at least we will have a better arm in the bullpen regardless. Bad news, Hammel left his start with problems with his knee that he had surgery on earlier in the summer, and he was off to a good start as well.
