And that's how we know Pujols isn't signing with the Cards.

I will always hate him, but it will be weird not having him in a dugout next season. Hell of a career.

                    lol @ this.

Pujols is looking for a long-term deal that should stretch to the end of his career, or close to it. TLR was going to retire within the next few seasons anyways, which would give Pujols another manager to play for during the middle of his contract.

If Pujols doesn't re-sign with St. Louis this off-season, it's simply because of the years/money. Not because LaRussa called it quits.

Actually I think if Pujols was to resign with STL.....Larussa woulda stuck around a season or two. Who the hell wants to manage that roster w/o Pujols.

My theory is if Oquendo becomes the head coach, it means that Pujols will sign with the Cardinals. Anyone else, Pujols is leaving.

The outside the organization front-runners right now are Francona and Maddon.

I would have liken another year against LaRussa to revenge the playoff loss. Oh well.

Hey Dave Duncan, there's room for you in Milwaukee!

I want Maddon over everyone. I think he'd be a great fit here.

But I still don't think LaRussa leaving affects Pujols's negotiations at all. Like I said, he was going to have to go through a managerial change anyways in St. Louis because Tony wasn't staying during the duration of a new Pujols contract.
