Yovani Gallardo is the perfect cure for a struggling offense.

      10-1 after three innings.

@ESPNStatsInfo: STL Yadier Molina currently 4-4 with HR vs MIL. Last STL catcher to go 4-4 or better with a HR? Manager Mike Matheny in 2003 vs the Brewers.

          Cool stat.

            Strasburg's curve is NASTY
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

                  ^^ I love Joey Votto. That's awesome.

Blowing two losses in the 9th to ATL hurts. Taking the first two from WASH makes it better (almost). Guerra is still looking more than sketchy. BABIP excuses aside, homie needs to start missing bats. Tough matchup today with Gonzales and Capuano. Rivera is hurt so he can't platoon at first so that means Loney is going to go 0 for 4 this afternoon. Ethier has been much better against lefties this season and he's always hot in April so I'm not worried about him. I just wonder about Gwynn, Gordon, etc. Rivera may not be a stud but he makes a difference in these matchups. Uribe is going to need to hit like he's getting paid for.

Tyler Greene is so fucking worthless.

I'll give to Willie Harris. Straight up.

Not for Greene, though. I mean, i'll just give you Willie Harris.

The Mets cost Johan so many wins, it's going to effect his shot at the Hall of Fame.

That wasn't Greene's fault at all. It's a designed play. Once Beltran got into a rundown between 1st and 2nd, the runner at 3rd is supposed to break to home. The goal for the Cards was to hopefully get Alex Gonzalez to continue to go after Beltran and not notice the runner going home. That way if he scores and Beltran is in a run down, the run will count. Gonzalez knew what was going on though and made a strong throw home.

Not Greene's fault. Blame Freese and Yadi for striking out in that situation.

From the recap page on MLB.com

With one out and runners still at the corners, Saturday's star, Yadier Molina, had the next chance. Molina fell behind, 0-2, at which point Matheny put into motion a play that the team had worked on several times during Spring Training.

He signaled for Beltran to take off for second, with Greene aware that if Beltran drew a throw, he'd race home. It was a play the club had executed four times this spring.

                              Sunday's attempt was a disaster.

Beltran didn't get a good jump, which prompted Lucroy to throw to second. He did so, though, after double-pumping, which led to Greene hesitating on his jump. He waited too long before breaking.

"We were just watching to see what they were going to do," Greene said. "The pump fake just threw it off."
