                                                        Yonder Alonso had two doubles Sunday, marking the fifth time this season that he has had a two-double game. The club record for two-double games in a season is six, shared by Tony Gwynn (1993) and Adrian Gonzalez (2007). Alonso has 14 doubles, putting him on pace for a 54-double season. The Padres' single-season record is 49 by Gwynn in 1997.
                                                        Savvy podcast listeners knew this guy would be a doubles machine. The big question, is will his line drives ever translate into enough HR's to justify being a 10-year starter at 1B?

                                                        I still say he's a left handed Edgar Martinez and belongs in an AL lineup at DH. He's got bad footwork at 1B and is kind of a hack with the glove, too.
