As an Orioles fan i am very excited to see him return. It's been a year since he played and is a great team leader. I don't think his return to the lineup will mess up the chemistry but if he can knock the rust off, he'll be a great player for the orioles this year.

    /fan hype.
I don't think it will mess up much chemistry, as Roberts is definitely going to be eased back into the swing of things and definitely hit lower in the order to start. But if he provides a plus glove and an average bat at this point, I'll be happy.

The Chicago White Sox finalized the signing of infielder Orlando Hudson to a one-year contract on Tuesday after the parties had agreed to the deal on Sunday.

Hudson, 34, started 33 games for the San Diego Padres this season, but was released on Thursday, as the Padres restructure their roster.
White Sox manager Robin Ventura has said Hudson may play some third base for the White Sox, although he has never played that position in the Major Leagues.

A two-time All-Star, Hudson was batting just .211 for the Padres this season when he was released.

Chicago also placed third baseman Brent Morel on the 15-day disabled list with a lumbar back strain.

Meh, I've been to about 5 Phillies-Mets games in Philly and it really wasn't that big of a deal. I remember one problem with a busload of Mets fans that came down for a bachelor party. They lasted until about the 5th inning. Other than that, I haven't seen anything that would tell me a guy in a Nats shirt should fear for his life, unless you are looking for trouble. The atmosphere around the baseball fans here is different than the football fans....unless it's the playoffs

As far as this week, for the first time this year I think the Phils are in trouble. And it has nothing to do to Howard/Utley. I was hoping we would keep our heads above water until they get back, hopefully make a deadline trade for a LF, and make a run in the second half. But if we can't get guys in from 3rd with less than two outs and keep making baserunning mistakes and errors (two things that we did very well in years past), it's not going to matter.

He was on defense... Clint Hurdle was also thrown out (naturally). It's really not that rare.

It happened to Brian McCann last season. Happens every now and then since arguing balls and strikes is usually an automatic toss. One could say slateman either doesn't watch, or doesn't remember, much baseball.

Chooch did the cardinal sin and looked back at the ump the entire time he was arguing. I don't think it's that rare for players the ump thinks is "showing them up" get thrown out the game. I remember 2 years ago IIRC Victorino getting thrown from a game while in centerfield for screaming about balls and strikes....now that's rare...

Okay then. I'd never seen it before.

Yea, Ruiz looked back. Seemed like he was having a conversation
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

Small improvements are better then nothing, the Brewers picked up Cody Ransom today. Better then Izturis and Maysonet at least.

The Nationals might have to make a difficult choice in the near future between Steve Lombardozzi and Danny Espinosa. I like both players but it's going to be hard to keep both out of the lineup. It doesn't make it any easier when the Nationals have a guy like Jeff Kobernus in the minors right now as well.
