Cards are sending out the all offense/no defense outfield tonight...Holliday in left, Beltran in center and Craig in right.

With our injury luck, one of these three will get hurt trying to track a flyball.
The 2012 Cardinals are the real life version of Bad Luck Brian.

Called it. This entire team just sucks.

I wouldn't be as mad if Johan wouldn't have Edwin Jackson'd this game. 5 walks and a blown missed hit to Beltran in the 6th just makes this frustrating.

Congrats to him and Mets fans though. I guess that you can say this is payback for 2006, but 2006 was payback for 2000.

Hmm, not sure how much value Youk has but we will find out soon enough I guess.

Fun article pointing out some strange parallels between Dodgers/Reds, AJ Ellis/Ryan Hanigan.

Strasburg strikes out the side to start the game.

Yeah this has been incredible to watch, Stras is truly special. Something tells me these two are going to be doing this a lot over the next five years.

I'm amazed at what Beachy can do with a fastball in the very low 90s. He's very precise with his location and pitch selection

He can challenge hitters with it in the zone because it stays so stiff and spins so hard that it stays up on guys. Physically it's impossible for a ball to rise, but the harder the vertical spin the more it can counteract the effects of gravity on its way to the plate.

Of course, you'll see a lot of solo HRs from him, like the one he gave up to Flores, because he lives in the zone so much. I'd almost prefer to see him throw fewer strikes sometimes.

Hopefully the Reds can get to Wandy tonight. He has historically owned the Reds. Bruce is 2-29 with 15Ks in his career against him so I have no problem with him not starting tonight.
