I hope Roger Bernadina doesn't have to go on the DL. If he does I wonder if they'd activate Chris Marrerro.

Marrero can't really play the outfield. I'm hoping Corey Brown gets called back up. Then I hope Brown somehow gets in to a game and goes on a tear, forcing Davey to bench Nady. Then I hope Nady get's DFA'd.
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

You don't bring Marerro up to play OF. Morse plays LF when we go back to the NL and Marrerro provides a backup bat at 1st base and off the bench

Yea, I know. But the Nationals need an outfielder to replace Bernadina. Also would be a pinch runner type. If something happens to LaRoche, you could just as easily move Morse to first base like last year. Or even Tyler Moore

My problem with Marrero is that he really hasn't shown any power. While there may be a place in the post-steroids era for a high average/obp first baseman, you generally expect him to slug over .400. Marrero hasn't really shown the ability to do that, though he hasn't had a lot of ABs in the big leagues. But lack of power has always been his MO.

This doesn't make any sense for them though. He's just coming off a hamstring tear and has a bad shoulder, and he's only had 1 full season at AAA in which he played pretty solid. He's only 23, let him heal up properly and get some at bats in AAA. No reason to rush him up when he's not 100% into a possible platoon/pinch runner role.

Nationals are in 1st place and have zero players even among the top 5 at any position for the All Star voting

I cant lie sometimes I wish the Reds were under performing really bad so Dusty Baker would get canned. For instance, today he is starting WILSON VALDEZ at SS after we had an off-day yesterday. I understand giving guys a day off, but they didn't have a game yesterday, and Cozart is only like 24 years old. Plus Cozart went deep and has been starting to hit better of late.

Not to mention the fact Wilson Valdez literally can't do anything at the plate but BUNT. I wouldn't get as mad if he started Valdez and batted him 8th, where he belongs in a major league lineup...but SECOND?

I completely agree. I still think he has some Adrian Gonzalez type late blooming power.

Surprises me that Strasburg isn't top 5.

Matt Diaz is starting over Jason Heyward. The reason? Diaz is 5-9 career vs. CC Sabathia. All of these came in 2006-2007.

Said Fredi: "It's not a platoon situation, but it's hard to ignore those numbers."

The Mets won't demote Ike Davis because he's popular with the rest of the team.

And don't even mention Jason Bay.

Nice to know Jason Heyward is now in a platoon situation.

The Indians pitcher just laid down a routine bunt with 2 outs in the inning
