It is all about what the organization needs at that time. Nick Markakis went from a pitcher to the outfield because the Orioles needed a positional player in the worst way, despite the fact many thought he would be a better pitcher.

Already saw it. It's devastating, mainly because I need a new avatar now, but also because it means we won't be able to use Pastornicky as trade bait.

What a 1st half for Reddick. He's really enjoying himself there with that young group, and the fans love him. Hopefully he sticks around for awhile and their fans can watch him develop.

Sigh of relief! Dodgers managed to hold onto first place to close out the first half of the season. Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier will be back next week and a few long-term injury players are also looking for a return/2012 debut (Rubby De La Rosa, Matt Guerrier, and so on).

For his career, Owings' ERA+ is 91 and OPS+ is 106.
