It's not really fair to compare the trade Milwaukee made to get Greinke and the trade they made to let him go. Greinke had different value in terms of team control.[REDACTED]Comment

Likewise, most GMs are smart enough now to realize the value of a cost-controlled prospect vs. a rental player, no matter what short term value they give you.Comment

I don't think a "blue chip prospect" is a must for a 2-month rental. It's nice if you can get it, but how many people LOL at the SFG for giving up Zach Wheeler for Carlos Beltran?

Obviously the Brewers got some really risky prospects here, but they're highly regarded enough to think it will work out for them. If Segura and Hellweg, aren't that far behind where Escobar and Odorizzi were ranked in 2010.Comment

Awful return for Milwaukee, but if Olt and Teheran weren't touchable I guess this is the best hey could do. Count me in the camp that thinks Segura will never be a star. He's destined for 2nd division regular status due to his fringey glove at SS, IMO.
Anyway, will be interesting to see if the Angels offer Greinke an extension. It's almost overkill to have that many good starters come playoff time.Comment
