Ricky Romero started the season 8-1, but has since lost 12 straight, with an ERA now pushing 6.00 and a 1.59 WHIP, with only 20 more K's than BB. Has anyone dropped off more from last season?

Good thing the Jays continue to start him instead of giving someone else a shot. This guy has fallen off the face of the earth and they continue to throw him out there. You'd figure they'd push him back a start or something at this point.

Or just shut him down for the season. No point in continuing to let their most talented pitcher go out there and get shelled.

All-Star Dan Uggla has lost his job as the Atlanta Braves' everyday second baseman.

Uggla has struggled the past three months and manager Fredi Gonzalez announced that Martin Prado would be the starter at second for the next few weeks. Prado replaced Uggla in the Braves' lineup Monday against the Colorado Rockies.

"It's not a doghouse situation," Gonzalez said. "It's a situation where you feel you have to do something for the team."

Since June 6, Uggla's numbers are ugly at the plate. He has hit .152 during that span, which ranks last in the major leagues. His .276 slugging percentage in the past 73 games is second to last in the majors.

For the season, Uggla is batting .208 with 17 homers and 64 RBI.

His streak of five straight 30-homer seasons likely will end.

"I understand what my numbers are," Uggla said. "I'm not blind to any of that, but at the same time, I'm part of the team that got us to where we are now. Numbers do not mean anything to me in September. Some people don't see it that way.

"Do I agree with it? No. But it's not my call. All I can do is pull for my teammates and do what I can when I get an opportunity."

Trade him to the Dodgers, I'm sure they can handle the salary

The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.

Oh, Dan Uggla lost his job? Make that 2 All-Star's who were chosen over Reds players that have now lost their jobs...meanwhile Cy Cueto and DAT DUDE keep trucking along.

Either homers to tie it up for the Doyers

EDIT - When did Bobby Abreu sign with the Dodgers!?

I must admit this Yankees collapse is becoming more and more interesting.

I'd have to agree with that.

Would love to see Baltimore overtake them.

The Red Sox tanking has been fun to watch as well.
