Every game counts and the orioles need to continue to beat the Jays. Although i am worried about fatigue going home to face the yankees.

Update on Kenley Jansen - he's going to stay on blood thinners for another 10 days, but it looks like he will be able to return on Sept. 18. They are planning on surgery in the off-season to correct the irregular heart rhythm.

Basically, it's the same issue that Ronnie Turiaf had.

MLB baserunners are the dumbest human beings on the planet
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

It is also looking like Chad Billingsley will be done for the year. Ted Lilly might return soon, but his role will probably be as a reliever.

Speaking of pitchers trying to come back from injury, Chris Carpenter threw his second simulated game today since his surgery. There's still a very slight possibility he'll be able to pitch at the end of the year, although they said his pitch limit would be capped at 90.

Psh, whatever. I can remember Mike Mussina warming up for the All Star Game in Camden Yards and NOT getting in the game ...

Started off throwing 92-93, was hitting 95 on the last two batters - 29 pitches, 21 strikes. Had great command of his FB and threw his curve and change for strikes too. The only hit was off his change.

Jay Bruce has a HR in 4 straight games...He also knocked in EVERY run we scored against the Phillies. 2 in each game.

He's a great man. Taking the traditional "get a little better every year" career path. Hard to believe he's still only 25, younger than rookies Zack Cozart & Todd Frazier, guys who were playing in low A when Bruce took his first MLB AB.

Awesome that he went oppo on the HR today, he has a few of those this season, starting to use all fields.

Bruce also has more HR's off of LH pitching than any other LH hitter over the last three seasons. Fuck your platoon advantage!
