Apparently the starting pitching market is so expensive this year that the Brewers have given up on signing anyone, lol. Still a few guys out there that I wouldn't mind on a one year deal though (McCarthy, Myers, Jurjens, Marcum).

Parra is someone I could dig.

Andy Martino says the Mets "know" Dickey is willing to sign a 2 YR/$26M extension but he "hears" from certain officials with the organization that the team doesn't want to spend that much on him.

I assume they must be thinking closer to $10M.

Maybe they're just stalling to see the pitching market settle and hope someone jumps at their requests via trade.

        Yeah, I'm going with that.

McCarthy would be great, and he definitely needs a one year deal to prove himself to get a payday next season. I'm actually surprised that he's still on the market with the need for SP.

Chance Texas ends up with both Hamilton and Greinke? I don't buy it.

                From Adam Rubin

One Mets official said everyone is asking for Zack Wheeler in trades with #Mets -- even for platoon-type catchers. That ain't happening.

The 3 and 4 team deals are reportedly dead right now, as the Diamondbacks want more than Asdrubal Cabrera for Justin Upton.

Eric Chavez heading home to Arizona on a one year, $3 million deal. Jason Bay has reached a one year deal with the Seattle Mariners, and I've not seen an amount yet.

@DKnobler: If Braves get an OF, they may trade Juan Francisco (Prado would play 3B). Marlins, Rays interested.

Juan Francisco is such a Ray. It just makes too much sense. Low pay, low risk, high upside.

I don't think the Braves will deal him, he's reportedly "in the best shape of his life" and that upside is still too good to pass up given how affordably he came.

More terrible reliever contracts coming up shortly.

                            Cardinals and Angels.

Orioles assembled their bullpen at a fraction of the cost that one of those contracts will be

Can't believe the Angels haven't been more active, though.
