Apparently the starting pitching market is so expensive this year that the Brewers have given up on signing anyone, lol. Still a few guys out there that I wouldn't mind on a one year deal though (McCarthy, Myers, Jurjens, Marcum).

Andy Martino says the Mets "know" Dickey is willing to sign a 2 YR/$26M extension but he "hears" from certain officials with the organization that the team doesn't want to spend that much on him.
I assume they must be thinking closer to $10M.
Maybe they're just stalling to see the pitching market settle and hope someone jumps at their requests via trade.
Yeah, I'm going with that.

McCarthy would be great, and he definitely needs a one year deal to prove himself to get a payday next season. I'm actually surprised that he's still on the market with the need for SP.Comment
