Atlanta Braves new BP caps - Offensive?

Every three or four years, all 30 MLB teams get new batting practice cap designs. The upcoming season is one of those years, so you'll soon see teams unveiling their new BP caps (which will also be worn throughout spring training, natch).

I've never been one to be politically correct, and honestly don't see what the problem is here. But apparently people are offended by this. Discuss.

I'm just pissed the Brewers picked such an ugly design. With other teams starting a trend of putting oldschool mascots on the BP cap, I don't understand why the Brewers and Padres didn't follow suit. The barrel man and the friar are both great logos.

That's an old logo. Guess they decided to rehash. Not offensive imo, but still not a fan.

I like the move, the BP caps are boring as shit so this will spice them up a little bit.

I love that logo, but it is incredibly racist. Most of the new hats look nice.

Its not offensive to me, but I've become immune to that being a Redskins fan and dealing with all of the suits the team has faced over the years related to their name.

Tony Kornheiser's solution of just putting a potato on the helmet and being done with it always seemed awesome to me.

Don't see how it's offensive in terms of being racially insensitive. It's a photorealistic drawing of a Native American warrior, aka a Brave. A lot less offensive than Cleveland's Chief Wahoo caricature.

It is, however, offensive to good design.

If you were Native American, maybe you would understand. No reason to call for people to be less sensitive when you have no idea what it's like.

Looks pretty much the same to me, a bit less cartoonish, but it is still a stereotyped caricature.

Everyone's been through something where they know what it's like. Maybe not to the point of a supposed stereotype or a name, but hasn't everyone been called one at some point or another? Just get that dirt of your shoulder and move along.
