Ned Colletti offers Headly a David Wright -esque contract in Winter '15
Pick 2 or I hang up the phone. Van Slyke and Capuano are included as well.

Just because he's their best player it doesn't make him a superstar. Hosmer is probably the best player on the Royals but I don't think anyone is lining up to empty the farm for him.

It is a fair point regarding the inter-division trade. I still haven't seen a competing offer worth increasing the bid by a massive degree, yet. He might be the Padres' best player but everyone knows that they are best served by trading him rather than keeping him. That dimishes their leverage (very slightly).

Dodgers still refuse to bid against themselves. We await any counter-offers.

Now we're talking. Magill is already on the table. I'm comfortable with including Withrow if Garrett Gould or Stephen Fife do not bring interest. I find it intriguing that Stephen Fife is not good enough, considering he's MLB ready right now and looks to have the floor of a 4 or 5 starter. He's hardly a AAAA replacement pitcher, IMHO.

I want Puig or Lee if I'm moving him in the division.

I understand this bit isn't serious (or at least I hope it isn't), but bragging about what right-handed Van Slyke can do against a LOOGY is like me bragging about Aldon Smith getting by a high school offensive tackle.

Anyways, I think there should be a minimum of one top 100 prospect, or two of a team's top 10 for Headley. Offers that don't include that shouldn't be taken seriously.

Colletti might send Lee and I might be able to convince myself in my never ending homer-optimism to stomach that. If I'm making the phone calls, I don't. Headley has one good season under his belt and we haven't seen him post-injury. Too many unknowns for me.

In reality, I could definitely see the Dodgers doing it. Lee, LesserMinorsPitcherX, a VanSlyke-ish guy, and Fife or Capuano w/cash.

Puig, Seager, and Pederson don't get moved. I don't think (or I hope) Kasten would allow that. I could see Onelki Garcia since he's still an unknown w/potential. Same with Chris Reed (not an unknown, but I could see him being moved). I hope Dodgers don't send Reed and Lee.

But then they sent De La Rose and Webster last summer so who knows?

Ok let's get another team rolling here or a more logical Dodger fan please. One of the two, Villain's work in here is done.

Garrett Richards/CJ Cron/Player to be named (not Cowart)

That's as high as I'd go.

Can we stop pretending Scott Van Slyke has any trade value, whatsoever? Can find 10 guys like that on waivers every February.

LOL at you guys thinking players like Capuano or Ivan Nova would be of any value to the Padres at all. Get lost with these lame duck offers.
