Either way I agree with you.
Alcohol is used for relaxation as well. Where do we draw the line?

If you get caught by MLB on a MLB sponsored drug test they should have the right to punish you. If you get caught by anyone else it should be outside of their jurisdiction.

If a player is caught with weed in their system outside of an MLB sanctioned test, are they still suspended? Too lazy to research it.

How often do people get randomly drug tested by anyone other than their employers?

Not often at all, if ever. Purely out of curiosity here.

The line has already been drawn.

You can't test for alcohol use on a daily basis (you could but let's be realistic about this). It is in and out of the system much faster than marijuana and it's a complete waste of time and money to start testing players before games for alcohol. It also undoubtedly slows down reaction time and coordination. It's also not illegal.

Like I said...common sense. No need for the MLB to try and take on more than they can chew at this point. Steroids are the main issue and other illegal drugs are already banned. Just leave it at that. Let's not try to reinvent the wheel when it comes to drug testing and athletics when it's really not much of an issue. The rules in place are fine for the most part.
