Mets called up (besides D'Arnaud) their most ready offensive prospect in IF Wilmer Flores.

              Just turned 22-years-old last week.

Mike Matheny was agitated after all the questions about the excess amount of bunt attempts last night.

He had Matt Carpenter bunt (fouled it off and then swung away) with a man on first in the earlier innings, Carlos fucking Beltran give up an out by bunting with two men on and no outs in the 7th, and then Jon Jay bunt (popped out to first) with Kozma on first and no outs in the 8th.

Kill the damn bunt already. That was a winnable game and Matheny fucked the team over by giving away outs.

If you having manager problems I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but a sub-optimized lineup or over-reliance on the sacrifice bunt ain't one.

My only gripe with Fredi lately is when he leaves the starter in to hit after the 6th. There was no way Minor was getting through the lineup a 3rd time last night, he was laboring hard and clearly didn't have his usual sharpness, but Fredi lets him bat in the top 7th and run out there for the bottom half. Sure enough first batter he faces is the Hairston, the lefty masher, and he promptly bangs a double off the wall. Didn't cost us since the Nats couldn't drive the run home, but it was so obviously a terrible decision at the time.

He didn't want it with Colombian Jesus though, as soon as Julio gave him the face he was done chirping.

Teheran claims it wasn't intentional, but I guess when you're 14.5 games back and your season is falling apart things can get a little emotional.

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Carlos Beltran! I would say congratulations, but this probably isn’t the kind of award you want to win. So, let’s just skip the festivities and skip right to the recap…

Yeah, I read that yesterday. I'm relieved that Mike didn't call it, but I'm wondering what possessed Beltran to go ahead and lay it down. Stupid.

Since June 22, the Dodgers lead MLB with a 33-8 record. The Rays are second at 28-11. Should make for an awesome weekend series.
