Announced that Matt Moore is going to miss the next 12 months due to electing to have Tommy John Surgery. Alex Cobb is also out for 4-6 weeks and Hellickson does not come back till June.

What is the over/under on a David Price trade? Before July 31? Only July 31? Season is dead in the water at this point.

Team will have to lean on Price and Archer and hope that Odorizzi steps his game up and Bedard does the same. If I'm AF and JM, I'm also designating Cesar Ramos as a starter for the rest of the season.

I wouldn't call it a "deafeatist" attitude. I think it is very realistic that the season the team was so hopeful for might already be out of reach. You don't lose 3 starters and just pick up and play. Is the season truly over? No. However, you are severely handicapped and a big topic of conversation today on sports radio was what do the Rays do if they can't pick up the pieces and compete?

In addition, I think I also provided additional thoughts by saying you hope that Odorizzi and Bedard can step their game up and that you now designate Cesar Ramos as a starter for the rest of the season. I don't think you have the luxury of using him as you see fit now that 3 starters are down with long-term injuries.

You know the saying. "Season's aren't won in April and May, but, they are lost in them."
