So for Miguel Cabrera to have a monster season in your eyes, he needs to hit .340/60 HR/150 RBI?

A good season is a good season. Numbers are what constitute "good" or "great" or "average". You don't look at Johan Santana and go "Oh, well he went 17-6 with a 3.20 ERA and 210 K's? Eh. Average." No. You don't. That's a GREAT season no matter who is doing it.

So say someone you never heard of hits .310/30 HR/120 RBI...that makes it a monster season then? GTFO.

Why did you skip so many numbers between what he listed as "average" and the numbers you threw out? Nobody is saying he should hit 60, or .340, but when you are Miggy Cabrera, merely 30 HR is simply an average year. A "monster" year by Cabrera's standards would probably require at least 45 HRs.

Thank you, that's exactly what I mean. I even brought up the Jeter reference, because he hit .300, which is good, but everyone was talking about his downturn, etc.
