I think so, he (Bedard) will probably get traded though. Morrow is staying in the pen for the rest of his career. He announced it a few months ago.

OK, here come the slide that we were all expecting. Silva and Beltre are really starting to piss me off. Beltre can't hit worth shit. He always goes up there hacking at everything, even when we are down 9 runs. And Betancourt cant walk to save his fucking life. 1 BB so far this year.

Ya Silva needs to move to the pen, his career as a starter is done and he probably won't do to much out of the pen either. I like Beltre's defense but his hitting is streaky, if we could get a guy like Garret Atkins it might work out, but he can be like Beltre at times as well.

Guys that need to be cut/traded.

          1. Betancourt
          2. Silva
          3. Beltre
          4. Lopez
          5. R. Johnson
          6. Johjima, if he doesn't start hitting.

I know we were burnt by Sexson and Beltre when we signed them trying to add power but we need to try to get another power hitter in FA or a trade.

I do not think Lopez has done too bad, but the rest of those bums you posted could go. Johjima has not been himself since getting the contract extension, maybe he will pick it up now that he is not on the DL

Give Beltre time, he is a notorious slow starter and if you remember what we had at third for the longest stretch, Beltre is a god send. He saves a ton of runs each year just with his defense.

But Betancourt needs to go, although in the past week he has drawn timely walks when we needed it.

Silva is supposedly moving to the pen with Vargas or Olson taking a rotation spot, thank god.

I just hate seeing us down 5-0 and Beltre goes up there swinging to hit a 700 ft shot with no one on base. Plus, the M's are paying him to hit .320 with 40 HR's plus his solid D. I wonder if that last year in LA was a fluke or if he took some Manny kool aid.

Like I said, give him some time and let the season progress. I full expect him to level around the .265-.270 mark with 20+ and 80+. Sure its not what we are paying for, but its far better than anything we have in the past and solid enough to help a team win. He's always been somewhat of a free swinger, so I'm used to that, but as opposed to a guy like Betancourt he has the capability of drawing walks and pulling the ball.

He is a FA after this year right? I hope we reload with some more talent when his contract is up. It seems like Seattle is unable to develop any of their offensive minor leaguers. A-Rod was the last one to make it.

If we can get him at a cheaper price, I don't think there should be any question in trying to resign him. However we got Tui coming up the system, but I'm unsure about his long term prospects as an everyday MLB third base guy.

Otherwise we got Truinfel who will be a short or a third baseman. He is a few years away though and his injury does not help, but he is the best prospect we have had since Felix.

I don't understand saying we have failed to develop any offensive players. You mean high level offensive guys? I'd say Lopez has been a success so far, but your right in the low number there has been. But that is what will change with the new regime, Bavasi looked for quick fixes; however everyone who he signed basically sucked. Jack Z is lauded for his talent to draft quality prospects and oversee a flourishing minor league system.

With the next draft expect Dustin Ackley, a first baseman from North Carolina to be the pick. He will most likely move to a corner outfield spot, but this kid may be the best hitter in the country. Grant Green, a short from USC is a possibility, but he has failed to produce at his expected level this season. There also is a chance a starting pitcher could be picked because of Morrow and Aumont becoming relievers, but I'd say bet on Ackley being in the system this summer. With him, we could have something special.

When I say top offensive guy, I mean someone who can be a .300 hitter with 30 HR. I was glad when we hired Jack Z. He was responsible for Fielder and Braun in Milwuakee. Since 2002 this club has needed help on offense and besides the mistake of signing Sexson and Beltre hasn't been able to get any solid guys. If we can sign Beltre to 2-4 mill less than he is currently making I'm for it. BUT, we need that 40+ HR guy in our lineup. Griffey, Buhner, Martinez and A-Rod were those guys, then Boone in 2001 but since we haven't had one.

Thats very tough to come by. Jose can be a .300 hitter who drives in 75+, and that is considered very successful. Out of all of the players in the organization, if one develops into that your considered lucky.

But like I said, keep an eye out for Ackley. He is a guy who could fit that mold. Can't wait for the draft with all the early round picks we have. Jack will really be able to restock the farm system.

The last few seasons I have really liked Lopez. This year it looks as though he doesn't care, or isn't trying. I could see him being a .280 20HR 75 RBI guy though. I'll take that from a 2B any day.
I consider all these guys big disappointments from our farm system.

                              Reed
Balentien ( Still needs to be given a better shot )
Clement ( Maybe if he moves to 1st )
Bucky Jacobsen ( Had a great start but then fizzled big time. )

Adam Jones ( Now he is doing well but the year he was on the club he didn't do squat. )
