lol, you forgot one more step in the chain, if Abreu hadn't called time so late and the ump hadn't granted it to him, then Beckett doesn't "stir shit up". And if you're saying that him stirring shit up was approaching Abreu than thats not fair at all, (obviously throwing at him is) Beckett just walked towards him cause he didn't like what Abreu was saying. Abreu was "stirring shit up" just as much as Beckett.

And to call Beckett's action after the pitch aggressive is ridiculous. He was never even involved in any of the pushing or shoving, he just mainly chilled out on the mound. And then if you're basing it on the words said, then Abreu, Speier, and Hunter deserved a suspension too.

I understand why they're doing it, I just think Speier and Hunter deserve a game too.

I didn't see the game first hand but from what I heard Beckett took a long ass time before he turned toward the plate to throw and Abreu called for time when he was staring down the guy at 2nd. Thus he turned and let her loose. Throwing a baseball that hard takes so much force with your shoulder that you can't just stop everything on a dime, so there really is no way for anyone at any level of MLB or on VSN that can determine whether it was intentional or not. The only person that knows the true answer to that is Beckett himself. Love the dude though, such a gamer.
I agree. I am not really that upset over it. Only thing I dont like is that Hunter didnt get a suspension. The fine will probably get dropped if beckett appeals anyways.

yeah same, thats the only thing that bugs me, I don't care about the suspension, I just think if you do it to Beckett you gotta do it to at least Hunter too, but whatever

I think that there should have either been 0 suspensions all around, or everyone gets 1 game, except Beckett who will get 6. I think 6 is a good amount for a pitcher because if the SP makes a start every 5 days, suspending them let's them pitch on the 7th day. Unless a team wants to completely screw with their rotation, then the SP will loss one start, which equals to one game for any other position player.

The Angels hitting coach should have just been fined and not suspended in my mind, though. I think that surprises me more than the Beckett suspension. Hunter and Speier were just as angry and flipping out just as much as the hitting coach, and they were not suspended. Obviously it does not affect the team since he is not a player, but still, that is a bit harsh.
